Building with Christ : Nehemiah

Building with Christ : Nehemiah

I know that sometimes it is hard to follow all of God’s instructions but don’t you love when he is correct? He is all knowing and powerful and gives us instruction that stretch us even if they are hard to follow at times. The lord may sometimes give you A,B and expect you to find C or sometimes you need to listen and obey A before anything else is given. He also works on his time so God can give you A and it might be days, weeks, months, or season before he gives you B and you would be required to obey and execute A out first before the next set of instructions are given to you.

This post came about as i was building a rolling desk that I got from WayFair. I had to build the desk myself, it was a very easy build. All the equipment was given, the instructions were there and the manual was written very plain. This leads me to the 1st scripture:

“Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.”Habakkuk 2:2 NIV

This scripture tells us to write the vision plainly and I like to surrender my vision to the Lord so that he can cultivate it in a manner that he sees fit. When we are building with the Lord, one thing we must do is to hear him clearly! This invovles spending time with him, sitting before him, praying and waiting for a response. When we spend time with the Lord, he enhances our relationship because we can hear him clearly when he gives us instructions. This goes into our 2nd verse:

8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. (Psalms 32:8 NKJV)

The word says that he will INSTRUCT US and TEACH US in the way that we should go. This is a verse that I like to pray because it is so practical and puts us in remembrane that the Lord will guide us. We may not know everything but we have a GOD that does. El Roi: for GOD SEES ME. HE sees our mistakes and make room when we miss the mark at times. Following his instructs even gets us out of trouble…… Can you remember a time where you felt it in your gut or spirit not to do something or go somewhere? but instead you ignored it and ended up regretting the fact that you didn’t listen. Well that most times is the Holy Spirit, our guide.

Now when we are following the instructions of the Lord sometimes there are people that will oppose us. Doesn’t mean they are an “enemy” or a “hater” sometimes Holy Spirit has spoken to you and they just don’t understand. Now there are times where there are really oppositions like Sanballat and Tobiah that were realy haters of the Jews.

“When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews, and in the presence of his associates and the army of Samaria, he said, “What are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble—burned as they are?” Tobiah the Ammonite, who was at his side, said, “What they are building—even a fox climbing up on it would break down their wall of stones!”” Nehemiah 4:1-3 NIV

Now…. When God gives you instructs and it looks different than what other people have seen or heard, it’s going to seem strange to them. It’s going to sometimes make people angry, like why are you doing this and moving like this or going there?  But here’s the key, you are following the instructions of the Lord. God will not lead you into committing sins and into destruction, he won’t lead you to go against him so as we all learn to discern the voice of the Lord, we must remember to test the spirit speaking to us. Follow his instruction because in the end something beautiful is to come.

REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOU ARE LOVED, AND YOU ARE IMPORTANT!
