Beauty Like Esther 👸🏾

Beauty Like Esther 👸🏾

One important thing to note about falling in Love with the Lord is that he will take you through a beautification process. For each of us that looks so different, some of us have dealt with insecurities our entire lives and the Lord will help you unlearn those. Some people don’t see themselves as beautiful and see mundane things like curling their hair not to be of any importance.

Do you believe that you are beautiful? We may have heard this verse a thousand times but truly you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

⚔️“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalms 139:14 NIV⚔️

I believe that our beauty is important, not to be made an idol out of, but to allow us to see that the creator of everything has made us so remarkably different and the same.

The verse for today is this:

⚔️⚔️“Before a young woman’s turn came to go in to King Xerxes, she had to complete twelve months of beauty treatments prescribed for the women, six months with oil of myrrh and six with perfumes and cosmetics.” Esther 2:12 NIV ⚔️

We see that all potential queens of a nation were to go through this process. The beatuy treatments were actually bodily rubbings. The Hebrew for purification (KJV) is mᵊrûqîm ( pronounced : maw-rook) which means scraping, rubbing.

Now unless you’re going to a spa everyday for 6 months, I don’t think any of us can relate to this. But what we can all relate to it the Lord stripping us down of our old sins, habits, ideologies, and taking us through a process of not only knowing who he is but also how he sees us.

My question to you is… Have you allowed the Lord to take you through your process of feeling beautiful? Beautiful in your natural hair? Beautiful in your body? Loving your personality and how the Lord operates through you?

Do you see the beauty in your relationship with the Lord? Do you see that he loves you and yes the process of entering the kingdom might be easy but staying will require for each of us to go through our own purification process and that might require a lot of scrubbing.

If you’re dealing with negative thoughts about your self image, I want you to ask the Lord about lies that people have told you about yourself and renounce those lies. Cut off every word curse spoken over you because of how you look.

Culture will tell us that we must constantly adapt to the constantly changing narrative of beauty and what it means to be beautiful. We must be grounded in the ideals and ways of Jesus. He is our king and he takes each of us by hand and walks us through our process.

As we all know, beauty is skin-deep and if you haven’t read Esther, I employ you to check it out. It only takes 30 mins to read.

Here is a excerpt from another woman of GOD, where she connects the process to preparation for a husband: Please Give it a nice read:

"Esther had to go through a purification process, six months of oils and myrrh and six months of sweet odors. These were used to clean her up and keep her smelling good and fresh for the moment she would go into the king. When it comes to our King, Jesus, we have to go through a purification process to be ready so that we may enter in into His kingdom, as well as when the Lord is is preparing you for your husband. The oil in this case that will purify you is the Word of God. You have to take the time to study daily, day and night, and allow it to change you. It will help you get rid of the ways of the world. You can't be worldly and doing things the way worldly women do them but think you will still be chosen to enter into the kingdom of God or granted that godly husband."

REMEMBER YOU ARE LOVED, YOU ARE IMPORTANT, AND YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL
